Made possible by a grant from ArtSurround in partnership with Creative Sonoma, the installation VISUALIZ ARch is a multi-phase project culminating in a temporary kinetic art installation in Petaluma’s Putnam Plaza Park. During the next 4 weeks (April into May) there will be a series of sessions with Petaluma residents throughout the city in various locations including photo sessions, gathering or written intentions, desires, and observations from participating community residents. these gathered materials will be used in the installation that will be installed in Spring 2023 and is intended to increase delight, interaction, inclusivity, and a feeling of belonging for all Petaluma residents.
I will be taking photographs of Petaluma residents’ facial features and getting thoughts from these prompts:
What do you love about your community?
What would you like to see more of in your community?
What makes a community vibrant?
What would help make your community better?
